HeartBeat (1988)

Two female doctors, disappointed by hospitals' lack of care for the individual, especially female, start their own clinic for women, where everyone care. This enterprise, however, puts a tremendous pressure on them and their families.

A surrogate mother refuses to give up "her" baby, the clinic needs a new pediatrician and one of the blood donors comes up HIV-positive.

A sickly pregnant woman has a slim chance of survival if she doesn't abort at least some of the sextuplets she's carrying. Meanwhile, doctor Cory saves an abandoned baby and thinks about keeping it, although she already has two kids.

Doctor Cory's competency is under question when a baby she delivered dies of sudden infant death syndrome. Gynecologist, doctor Springsteen, has a scared patient who's entering the menopause. Doctor Autrey helps her niece to lose weight.

The staff's complicated love life is heating up.

Pediatrician, doctor Leo Rosetti, wants to hold the first health conference at the clinic. Doctor Autrey's fear of breast cancer grows. Fertility specialist, Dr. Paul Jared, must deal with impotence.

A looming malpractice suit threatens to ruin the clinic financially. Doctors Eve and Cory accept to work for free.

Nurse practitioner and founding partner Marilyn McGath is feeling more and more as just another nurse, and less and less as a founding partner. Meanwhile, doctors Rosetti and Halloran resolve their issues in the most childish way possible.

Doctors Joanne and Eve must locate and help a pregnant woman trapped in a school badly damaged in a construction accident, while the kids are being evacuated from the building.

A hospital administrator is accused of abusing his pregnant wife, but is there any proof? The staff's love life and family relationships are developed further.

An insurance inspector is visiting the clinic. Doctor Cory has to determine what's wrong with an ill cop. Fertility expert Paul Jared is visited by a loan shark when he skips a payment. Doctor Joanne can't escape her birthday party.
