Star Slammer (1986)

A bored office worker is transported to a parallel world of wizards and warriors by a magic amulet.

A charisma potion may help Brian retrieve the amulet.

Brian gets an opportunity to return home when a fire sprite grants him a wish.

Trapped in a parallel universe, office worker Brian has been locked up and charged with starting the snail wars. Steg persuades him to opt for trial by combat against a terrifying warrior called Radnok.

Keen to protect himself, Brian takes a magical crash course from Howell. Steg accidentally becomes a father, Barbara loses her only soothsaying client and the Fairies become obsessed with darts.

Brian heads to a trendy, exclusive new bar near Munty docks. He proves a hit with the bar's cool clientele, but are they what they seem? Barbara bumps into an old school-friend who offers her a rare magic object.

It's Munty's famous Pear Fair and Brian and Steg get the easy job of guarding an albino pear tree. Barbara must take advantage of an opportunity to join the Seers' Guild. Howell must fix a card game.

Desperate to reach the City of a Thousand Towers before the Super Solstice, Brian ingratiates himself with a group of travelling Players, in town to stage the annual Munty Play.

It's the Super Solstice, Brian's last chance to get home. He just needs to break into the Protector's mysterious Henge while Howell performs the incantation to cross worlds.

Brian is being forced to perform in a travelling circus, run by the sadistic Feffenhoffer (Steve Coogan). Barbara and Steg set out to rescue him while Herman accidentally traps a fairy. Stuck on Earth, Howell tries desperately to get back to Munty.

Brian pitches for a job in the pub while Herman helps an old warrior friend. Barbara finds herself in charge of the Munty Pet show, which Howell is attempting to fix.

Brian hits on an idea for a sure-fire money-spinner when he introduces popcorn to Munty. Steg follows his success jealously. Barbara has her hands full with a demanding client - the leading lady in the Munty Clack Dancers. Meanwhile Munty's most violent gangster, Slasher Morgan orders Howell to make a truth drug, with unexpected results. There's much excitement about the Protector's Wisdom-Giving festival, a high point of the Munty cultural year.

Herman relaunches the pub, new look, new drinks and an advert in the local paper. But when Brian collects the wrong barrel from the docks the entire gang end up trapped inside. Meanwhile the deadly disease of Woodpox is sweeping through Munty.

Brian has the amulet that can get him home, but it doesn't work. Howell tricks him into getting a book from the sinister Munty Library to help. Barbara's mother comes to visit and takes a shine to Herman. Meanwhile Steg is mistaken for a goblin.

Brian joins the Munty Reserve forces for some easy money. Barbara finally gets into the Seers Guild and Steg joins a Dragon Spotting Society. But Howell knows that there is something menacing lurking outside Munty and it's getting closer...
